Gospel artiste K-Anthony is batting for his latest record, Billboard, to become his breakthrough international hit. The single which is the first from his upcoming gospel album, also titled Billboard, is currently in rotation on local and international radio.

For those who immediately assume that the song is making reference to the popular international Billboard chart, K-Anthony says the single is actually about showing the world support for the Creator.

"It speaks to being an advertisement for Christ. Over anything else, in spite of what is happening in our lives, Jesus said 'Let your light shine before men...that they may come to glorify Him'," he said.

Getting one's music on the Billboard chart might be seen as a career-defining moment for recording artistes, but ironically, K-Anthony says he serves a bigger purpose, one that surpasses medals, plaques, and trophies.

"Initially in my music career, my main aim was to be the epitome of gospel music, getting on the world's Billboard chart of music. At the time of writing Billboard, I had a redefining moment in my life, where my focus shifted from self to total surrender to God's will. My musical passion became bigger than just getting on the Billboard.

I wanted to be a Billboard for what I believe in. I wanted to remind Christians that being a Billboard is their job. We are the advertisement for salvation and grace," he said.

The single was produced by Dwaine 'Wiya' Campbell from BarbwiyaMusic.

K-Anthony says the public reception to the project has been generally positive. He is also looking to release a high-quality music video to amplify the single's promotion.

"I feel humbled by all of the positive reception I have received from Billboard. I am very appreciative that they see great potential in this song. I do believe in what I do and hope my hard work will pay off," he said.

Billboard, the album, is set to be released worldwide on May 6, 2016 and will be commemorated with a live concert. The artiste will then embark on a tour in support of the project.

K-Anthony added that he is looking to raise the bar as it relates to the current standard of gospel music in the Caribbean.
