One of the three big annual events put on by Shades Night Club in Content Gardens, Ocho Rios, takes place on April 30 with the crowning of Miss Shades Exotic Dancing Queen 2016.

Last year's crowd favourite, Lady Rihanna, won the competition ahead of 13 other contestants. She will crown one of 15 contestants taking part in the competition this year.

"Miss Shades Exotic Dancing Queen gets better and better each year," said Lloyd Cameron, club owner and promoter of the event. "Everybody is looking forward to this event and there is a buzz of nervous anticipation in the air. Already, the girls are experiencing lots of butterflies and people are anticipating and guessing who the winner will be. That's the big question right now: Which of the gorgeous contestants will be the new queen?"

QUEEN OF QUEENS

A special feature on the show this year is a segment titled, 'Queen of Queens', which will highlight all previous Miss Shades Exotic Dancing Queen winners, along with the club's two international dancehall queens.

"It will be a parade of beauty and talent beyond the call," Cameron said.

Last year, more than $100,000 in cash, along with other prizes, were awarded, with the winner pocketing $50,000, along with a trophy and other prizes. This year, the prizes will be even more attractive as a host of sponsors have come on board to make the show even more spectacular.

"I want to say many, many thanks to sponsors, Nuffa Variety, Rios Food Store, Tingle Distributors, Krystal Cameron Designs, Shags Boutique, Rihanna's Boutique, Simply the Best Restaurant, O.H. Investment, Delexis Pharmacy, P.R. Boutique, Total Gas Station, Tavia's Boutique and Dolphin Cove. Without their support, it wouldn't be possible to put on this event, now in its sixth year," said Cameron.

He also added that apart from a top-quality pageant, the programme is full of good entertainment throughout the night.

This will include performances by Kahlil (Former Rising Star contestants), Richard Stud (Mr Sax), Extreme Pushers from Dancin' Dynamite, Shades Dynamic Divas and Bad Boys Entertainment.

MC duties will be shared by Bad Boy Trevor, MC Tuttu and DJ Chicken, with music all night compliments of DJ Bigs, DJ Tourist, Jugglements Int'l, and DJ Flex.

"It will be a night to remember. I want to personally wish all my divas good luck and each is a winner in my book," Cameron said.

Later this year, the club will also stage Shades Pon Di Beach at Rio Nuevo in St Mary and Bossie's Black and Yellow Birthnight Bash at Shades Night Club.
