Get ready to Whip, Nae Nae, Aji Bounce and Tom Cruise at the YMZ (Youth Music Zone) show this summer.

Many may be familiar with the popular line, "Now watch me Whip..now watch me Nae Nae,", but not everyone may know the name of the artiste who sings the song.

With the official video inching towards one billion views, and quite a few nominations and awards under his belt, including the Billboard Award for Top Streaming Artiste (Video), Silento has made his mark and he is all set to make his debut performance in Jamaica on July 9 at YMZ, the ultimate family entertainment event.

Produced by Mysterious Music Minds, YMZ will be held at the National Stadium in St Andrew and features a balanced package with two top international acts and two hugely popular local artistes. In addition to Silento, YMZ features sibling group R5, Bling Dawg and Don Andre, who together comprise the fantastic four gearing up to give concert-goers a summer to remember.

Dave Lindsay, a director of Mysterious Music Minds, noted that although the producers of YMZ (Youth Music Zone) are tapping into a predominantly youth market, the concept is one of clean, appropriate, entertainment that the entire family can come out and enjoy, in addition to a production that will be second to none, with state-of-the-art audio and lighting effects.

"We observed that the current landscape was lacking in family entertainment shows. You know the type where parents can tag along with their kids and actually have fun themselves, so we decided to fix that," he said.

With their wealth of experience in the entertainment business, it was a no-brainer for the team to choose the ideal artistes for this package.

"The Aji Bounce and the Tom Cruise have taken over the place so it was fitting to get Bling Dawg and Don Andre on the line-up. R5 is a hit with the teens and we know that the youngsters can't wait to see them live," Lindsay explained.

He added that Silento is pretty excited about his first performance in Jamaica. From last month, the 18-year-old whose global hit, Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), saw him charting in places such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden and Switzerland, posted on his Facebook Page, "I'll Be In Kingston, Jamaica Soon! Let everyone know to be at the venue with the squad."

R5, a U.S., pop/rock band formed in 2009, comprises siblings Riker, Rocky and Ross Lynch and their sister, Rydel, along with family friend Ellington Ratliff. In 2010, R5 released their debut EP, Ready Set Rock. Individual acting roles helped to boost the group's profile, and in 2012, they signed a contract with Hollywood Records.

They released their second EP, Loud (2013), followed their debut album, Louder. R5 was nominated for Best Band at Disney Music Awards, and earned the title of Next Big Thing.

YMZ is endorsed by the National Parent Teachers Association of Jamaica. Among the official sponsors of the July 9 event are iCool, Jamaica Yellow Pages, KaribLink Digital, Youth Link, Gleaner, Children's Own, Zip FM, Irie FM, Hype TV, Main Event, Esirom, Renaissance Disco, Atlas Protection, Tutti Frutti, Caribbean Sofa, School SMS, Carib Tix and 1Luv TV.
