Florida-born entertainer, Ayron Michael, recently joined forces with Jamaican producer Kemar 'Flava' McGregor to record a reggae version of Prince's 1984 smash hit, Purple Rain.

Michael said he relished the challenge of singing a reggae version of Purple Rain, so when McGregor contacted him about the project, he did not hesitate.

HAPPY WITH RESULTS

"I grew up singing gospel music, and I've been doing R&B and pop music throughout my professional career, so when I got the chance to do a reggae song, especially a cover of a song I loved so much, I just had to do it. I had a great time working on Purple Rain, and I am happy with the results," he said.

Ayron Michael's version of Purple Rain was released in July, and has since been enjoying heavy rotation worldwide.

"My version of Purple Rain is different from the original. It's reggae, and it has more harmonies than the original. I gave it the Ayron Michael treatment. The fans love it; I've been getting a lot of positive emails and social media messages from people all over the world about it," he said.

Michael is getting ready to release a smooth pop-flavored reggae ballad titled, Blessing in Disguise. The song which was produced by Kemar 'Flava' McGregor for his FM Music imprint, is currently available for pre-order on iTunes.
