Alcatel’s PIXI, POP and IDOL dial in on St Ann’s Bay Primary
Apart from adding more glamour to the Chill Room, the Alcatel ladies (PIXI, POP and IDOL) provided a new dimension to this year's Digicel Rising Stars show by travelling to different parts of the island, getting feedback about Alcatel and the show, as well as interacting with viewers who have been eager to meet them.
Although these excursions were exciting, it was the most recent visit to St Ann's Bay Primary that the ladies said was most fulfilling.
"It has been a fun ride ... Watching these awesome kids embrace us the way they did was a very heart-warming feeling," said POP, who, incidentally, is also from St Ann.
The ladies and other members of the Alcatel team stopped by the school on their way to film another episode of their Street Vibe segment but did not go empty-handed as they issued bags, pencils and notebooks to the students and 'selfie' sticks and other goodies to the teachers.
"The school was well kept. The students were very pleasant and extremely bright," according to PIXI. "It was amazing to me how disciplined they were and it really seems as if they were all happy to be in school."
Mr Cole, principal of St Ann's Bay Primary, said he was very grateful for the visit and extended his appreciation for the items given by Alcatel to the students, which he said would come in very handy with their studies.
"It's always great to have visitors. It helps to motivate the students, who feel a sense of pride knowing that they met someone they see on TV, so I am very happy for the visit," said Cole.
The visit ended with the Alcatel ladies chatting with teachers and students. They imparted motivational messages about the importance of school and why they should follow their dreams.
"It starts from here," said IDOL.
"As a brand, we believe in inspiring people to follow their dreams, and we are very excited to be able to motivate and share with these young minds. After all, they are the future leaders of our country," she continued.
