Pulse's Alicia Burke

Pulse model Alicia Burke can add the moniker Caribbean Queen to her extensive resume of accomplishments on the international circuit, as she is the new cover of SHE Caribbean. And although the cover carries no formal title, this latest achievement crowns an incredible year for a young woman, who, in less than 12 months, has become arguably the most successful model that Jamaica or the wider Caribbean has produced.

She is certainly the fastest rising and the most heralded from the region. No one before her, in any given year, has done the body of work, in quality, quantity or prestige that she done in her first year.

While SHE Caribbean cannot claim the prestige of French or Italian Vogue, it is an outstanding publication in its own right and one of the best from the Caribbean. Being recognised at home is always a particular thrill, so her latest cover is undoubtedly a special pleasure for Burke.

Burke's SHE cover was shot in London by Swedish photographer Saskia Lawson, with hair and makeup by Lauren Alice @ Mandy Coakley Represents. Styling was by Emily Cocklin.

It seems the world can't get enough of this new star. As Vogue said in a snapchat post 'Alicia is one of six bombshells taking over the world of modeling' and earlier on, 'Alicia is the model that Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney and Donatella Versace can't get enough of.'

Burke is the first Jamaican or Caribbean model to shoot the cover of Italian Vogue. But her cover was exceptional, as it was a three-page fold out cover with her name emblazoned on the second fold. She shot 12 pages of French Vogue earlier this year and was the cover and 20 plus pages of Harpers Bazaar, to name a few of her editorial feats. According to vogue, after she appeared for Gucci, "when a great model arrives, the world takes notice!"

Earlier in the fall, Burke's new campaign for Ralph Lauren - 'Iconic', was released worldwide and a string of others, including Coach and Bobbi Brown, were due out ahead of the holidays. A number of others cannot be disclosed until released.

A few of her top clients include Harper's Bazaar, French Vogue, Gucci, Schiaparelli's, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Dolce & Gabanna, Stella McCartney, Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, Tommy Hilfiger,, Prada, Bobbi Brown, Versace, i-D, Benetton, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, Top Shop, Harvey Nichols and Schiaparelli.
