Twelve Tribes of Israel celebrates tonight
Twelve Tribes of Israel (TTI) will set the tone for its Jubilee year celebrations with an entertainment package featuring vintage star power and exciting talent of the future tomorrow. the 49th anniversary of the founding of the organisation. The event takes place at the TTI Hope Road headquarters.
After its Reggae Legends event, which had patrons rocking into the wee hours of the morning, the anniversary stage show will be headlined by the Abyssinians, featuring Bernard Collins, of Satta Massagana fame; the evergreen golden voice of Judy Mowatt and Fredlocks who did the mega hit Black Star Liner. There will also be as well as Twelve Tribe favourite Marva Gillespie and rising stars Rassi Hardknocks and Israel Voice.
Adding an international flavour to the hard-core reggae mix will be USA-born Harrison Stafford who will be performing from his repertoire of music written and produced over the years in collaboration with members of his Groundation Band. "I just want to help spread the music and the message of Reggae and be a part of the worldwide struggle for equal rights and justice," said Stafford.
The TTI Rastafarian organisation was founded by Vernon 'Gadman' Carrington and is now functioning in Africa, the United States, throughout the Caribbean, Great Britain and New Zealand.
