INique gets dream start in music

The beautiful and sultry Monique McDonald, known as INique, has been making her presence felt in the music industry.

Born and raised in St Mary, her musical journey started when she was in school in Jamaica and continued in the US.

During her schooldays, she took part in most, if not all, the entertainment programmes and extra-curricular activities that her schools and church had to offer, which entailed choruses, ensembles and dance groups.

In 2014, her journey took a turn when she decided to follow her dream - the love for music - and discussed her career paths with Marcia Sinclair, a family friend, who put her in contact with Hopeton Lindo, a veteran singer, songwriter and record producer.

INique was fortunate to have such a connection with Lindo, who introduced her to producer Richard Grant of Poorman Red Hill Production.

In December of 2016, she recorded her first song, Man Next Door - an excellent rendition of the John Holt/Paragons classic hit - which was released in January 2017.

The Man Next Door Riddim Various Artistes Album was released in February was well received and remains on the South Florida Top 15 Reggae Album chart, after spending three consecutive weeks at number one.

INique's Man Next Door single has been in heavy rotation on various radio stations in South Florida and after spending 14 weeks on the chart, recently made it to the number one spot on the South Florida Top 25 Singles chart. She continues to work hard in studio with producers Richard Grant, Dwayne Hoilet of Poorman Red Hill/Inbound Productions and Hopeton Lindo of Irie Pen Production, respectively, so fans can look out for more from INique as she continues to soar to higher heights.
