Female producers get recognition
This year's 21st Hapilos Digital Music Awards, is set to award a top female producer for music they produced during the period of April 1, 2016 - March 31, 2017.
Nominees in this category, include Paypaz Chasez Muzic, Short Boss Muzik, Stashment Productions and Twelve 9 Records.
The invitation-only award show, slated for Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Knutsford Court Hotel, will see winners for each category being selected based on sales data provided by major online retailers worldwide.
Kelly Dudley, president of 21st Hapilos, said “Female producers and artistes have never received the full credit or recognition they are entitled to in this male-dominated industry. They have to work twice as hard and the music they create has to be twice as good as the music created by their male counterpart. The Top Female Artist and Top Female Producer categories, aim to help bridge that recognition gap. Beyond the awards, Hapilos Entertainment is further committed to working with females in the industry to advance their music pass these superficial barriers.”
Paypaz Chasez Muzic has distributed singles such as ‘Reality’ by Diligence and ‘Energy Girl’ by Charly Black; Boss Muzik has released singles such as ‘Too Lie’ by Vybz Kartel and ‘Ignite the World’ by Vybz Kartel; Stashment Productions released ‘Still Love U’ by Mavado and ‘Tip’ by QQ and Twelve 9 Records for singles such as ‘Yuh Body’ by Busy Signal and ‘Indicator’ by Spice.
