Former Rising Star contestant Ricardo 'Big Pop' Rankine is seeking to join the fight against crime with his new single, We Are One.

Rankine says the song has been getting good support and have the musical input of artistes Singer J and Turbulence, who have added their voices to the project.

According to Rankine, the song is getting good traction overall and forms a movement that is positive.

"We realise that artistes need to take the bold step of doing inspiring music that can help to change lives positively. We have gone into schools and shared the lyrics, we have done interviews and it (the song) is said to have a positive energy that can create positive changes," Rankine says.

He says the inspiration to write the song came from the constant bloodletting that has taken over the country.

"This song is a movement for change and all the effort is geared at unifying the fight against negatives, so I know that we need more of these songs," said Rankine.
