Reggae singer Prophecy will be bringing cheer to the residents of St Thomas with the Reggae Life Music Festival tomorrow. It will be held at the Goodyear Oval, Springfield.

In 2016, Prophecy established the Prophecy Youth Foundation to give back to low income families with children in St Thomas. Through the foundation, Prophecy adopted the children's ward at the Princess Margaret Hospital to which he expressed his commitment to improve the lives of those utilising it. Proceeds from the Reggae Life Jamaica Music Festival will be donated to the facility for the purchase of an ultrasound machine and a Computed Tomography (CT) scanner, which are at the top of the hospital's list of most needed items.

“This is a charity event aimed at bringing much needed revenue to the parish of St Thomas. In addition, we want to bring smiles on the faces of the residents living here during the holiday seasons and what better way to do that than with pulsating reggae music, numerous giveaways and contributing to the upliftment of the parish?” Prophecy told  The Gleaner.

According to Prophecy, the  music festival is poised to be a staple on Jamaica's event calendar and  will attract visitors to St Thomas annually during the holiday season.

“Through continued success of the music festival, the parish's economic potential could see a boost in tourist arrivals. This year, with a larger venue and an expanded line-up of artistes, patrons can treat their palates to some wholesome family entertainment for a worthy cause,”he said.

In addition to Prophecy and his Reggae Life Band, the event will feature Sizzla Kalonji, Junior X, Hezron, Warrior King, Uprising Roots Band, Duane Stephenson, Bugle, Louie Culture, Vershon, Nateesha Stream, Jameik King and Jennifer Barrett.

“Jamaica is rocked by crime and violence and I just want the man dem to put down dem gun and enjoy the season man. Let's carry the love to the New Year and beyond. We are a beautiful country, but our crime rate is ugly. I am hoping that this event will just inspire the youths,” Prophecy added
