Premature baby’s birth keeps Fetty Wap home
In between deejays Aidonia and Capleton performing yesterday morning to close the concert on Jamaica House's lawns, Shaggy explained the absence of American rapper Fetty Wap.
The non-appearance was connected to the concern for children's health, the driving force behind the biennial Shaggy and Friends event, which supports the Bustamante Hospital for Children.
Shaggy said that invariably, there is someone who cannot make it and "tonight the person who did not turn up is Fetty Wap." Among the rapper's popular songs are Trap Queen, My Way and Wake Up.
"With good reason. He had a little baby," Shaggy quickly clarified, adding that the baby (girl) weighs just a pound. "This is why we are doing this for the Bustamante Hospital. This is why the hospital is very important. So everybody now, put you hand in the air and send some love for Fetty Wap and his children."
The website www.nydailynews.com reported that Fetty Wap and Alexis Skyy's daughter, Alaiya, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, three months before her due date and the day before Fetty Wap would have performed on Shaggy and Friends 2018.
