Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper makes an impressive directorial debut with the fourth iteration of the classic tale, A Star is Born. Although the story spans different eras and even different industries, the overall plot remains remarkably similar throughout all four versions. The story originally came to the big screen in William A. Wellman's 1937 movie, which starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. The first remake came along in 1954, directed by George Cukor and starring Judy Garland and James Mason.

In this new take on the tragic love story, established musician Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) discovers and falls in love with struggling artist Ally (Lady Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally's career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is falling apart, as Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.
