Pulse's 'Caribbean Model Search TV' approaches finale
The show that brought viewers drama, excitement and hilarity will serve up a final dose of excitement today when the series comes to a close.
Produced by Pulse, the model-focused reality-TV programme has been a big hit this season with a new innovation of having males compete against females for the first time in the show's history. This move proved exciting. Perhaps because of the added challenge, the women stepped up to the plate and were not daunted. They, too, were shrewd and showed grit throughout the series.
The stunning Melia Braco hosted the 20 ambitious potential models fighting for Pulse's top title. The standard reality-based elements were a staple in each episode, but the action and personalities were far from ordinary. The contestants hardly held back as they fought through the activities and challenges and shared their truth, essence and arrogance as the competition progressed.
The authenticity of the personalities on display was perhaps one of the hallmarks of this edition of the series. Judged by Caribbean modelling pioneer Kingsley Cooper, Pulse superstars Alicia Burke and Oraine Barrett, and fashion director Romae Gordon, the young model aspirants worked feverishly for the top prize.
There was serious discontent among contestants over the unexpected introduction of a wild card from Pulse's Schools Model Search.
Intimidation and frustration were feelings shared by the contestants when the wild card, Tahj Morgan, came into the picture. Morgan, Biance Edwards, Sydonie Ferguson, Kelia Singh, Casey Dean Brown and Shadae Mc Kintosh are among the nine who will compete in the final round. The other three, Meshane Kelly, Daniella Davis and Orane Gardner took some challenge wins, however, there has been no clear favourite for this season. The finale is poised to deliver dramatic results as the show comes to a close.
On offer is the CMS TV title, a guaranteed modelling contract with Pulse, A trip to New York to visit model agencies, a weekend for two at Melia Braco, and, most importantly, a chance to begin an international modelling career. CMS TV airs on Fridays at 9:05 p.m. and on Wednesdays at 1:05 p.m. on TVJ.
