Deiwght Peters rolls again - Unveils TRIO, Kingston’s newest ‘it’ spot

Returning to TVJ’s airwaves this Sunday with his eponymous talk show after production was unexpectedly halted last week due to inclement weather, host and celebrated model-maker Deiwght Peters is showcasing the grand reveal of Kingston’s next leisurely hot spot and one of the key lifestyle architects behind it: international luxury menswear retailer and consultant Sophia Max Brown.

As long-time friends and occasional collaborators on fashion projects, Brown and Peters share a storied history of close to two decades. On Sunday’s episode of his TV show, she gives him the first take of TRIO, a new venture scheduled to open at 64 Hope Road, St Andrew, on November 7. Max Brown described it to The Gleaner as “a zen-inspired, patio-style, fusion restaurant with European and Jamaican flavours that features an adjoining cocktail lounge with an extensive selection of wines.”

“Sophia is a knowledgeable, astute businesswoman and style goddess, so when I learnt of her new venture in the midst of the pandemic, with partners (businessman) Jason Lee and her ever-supportive brother Carlos, it was a great story of audacious risk takers who deserve all the success,” said Peters.

Brown, favourably regarded in corporate and influencer circles as a go-to source for men’s fashion with her iconic retail store MAX BROWN, posited that the pending debut of a food and hospitality establishment, for which she will also collaborate with her restaurateur and nightlife impresario brother Carlos Max Brown, “is definitely not a switch but diversifying and doing what I love. My true love is experiencing other cultures through fashion, cuisine and wine”.

As the style king himself, Peters is styled to the nines by Max Brown and in the form of a dazzling (first) runway show portrays the latest and some classic trends in menswear running the gamut of the functional wardrobe.

With her eyes trained on TRIO capturing a target audience of young professionals, business executives, creatives, and trendsetters, Brown revealed that the distinctive edge will be “offering a wine club, wine tastings, guests chefs, themed events such as fashion shows and art exhibitions”.

Since his show’s premiere in September, Peters has welcomed a diverse international cast of guests, including world-famous designers, artists, chefs, actors, models, and musicians from London, Los Angeles, Paris, Switzerland, Nigeria, and New York.

‘Rolling with Deiwght Peters’ broadcasts exclusively on Television Jamaica Sundays at 4 p.m. and repeats on Wednesdays at 1:05 p.m.
