Is helping sexy?

Earlier this year, The New York Times published an article suggesting that when men help with household chores, as opposed to women being burdened with the tasks alone, their sex lives suffers.

A recent vox pop is debunking that. Flair spoke to men - married, and involved in common-law

relationships - to test if this was reflected in Jamaica.

According to Karl*, the article is right. "There is no such thing as more sex in marriage. Ooooh please. That would never work, no relation. I could clean the house from top to bottom and that wouldn't affect one thing."

But that wasn't the story for Aron*: "I know just how to get 'some' from my woman. And helping with the chores is one of the many ways, especially after she has had a long day and would not be thinking along those lines. Preparing dinner, straightening up the apartment is the first step to a beautiful night," he said with a smile.

"My girlfriend often tells me 'a helpful man is the sexiest thing ever' for her!" exclaimed Roger*. "I don't help as often as I should, but when I do, I can get her to go to the moon without any arguments."

Al* was indecisive. He said: "It depends on her mood, I have to play all my cards right if I want to have sex. If one thing goes wrong, I can forget it. She is a perfectionist and, as such, everything needs to be going good. So whether or not I help, the result is the same. She has to want to."

"Ooooooh yes!" Mark* exclaimed. "Is a true ting, man. My wife loves it when I help. She smiles from ear to ear like the mouth cat. And I make sure to put the children to sleep too, 'cause I don't want any distractions."
