had a little speech on how he felt about me, what makes me perfect for him as a Christian, and then he just asked me directly, 'Will you marry me?' I knew we were getting serious but was thinking more about 2015 as a possibility. But when he asked, I just said 'yes' without any hesitation. That simple! We knew it was the right time."

The fact that both her parents adored him and how welcoming his family was to her, made it easier for the couple to immediately get into wedding planning mode.

On September 6, they had their movie-themed wedding with a

rustic feel incorporating: teal, baby blue with yellow accents.

"The day was more than what we both thought it would be. To say it was just as planned is far from it. It was magnificent and extremely memorable. To spend the most perfect day with the person that you want to spend the rest of you life with was great," said Carla.

The day was planned with lots of help from family and some great friends. "We knew we wanted the day to be a mixture of traditional with rustic. We loved Port Royal and the Ruins. We both loved the scenery at Grand Port Royal Hotel (formerly Morgan's Harbour) and the option to take photos nearby at Fort Charles," she said.

"I got a little emotional while I was getting ready when I realised I was running late, as we had both promised to be on time."

The ceremony took place at St Peter's Anglican Church in Port Royal, officiated by their Edgewater/Waterford circuit pastor,

Reverend Dr Dylan Toussaint. The couple told Flair they chose the location because it gave them the traditional feel they wanted and allowed an easier commute for their guests to the reception.

The reception which followed was perfectly planned by Shindigz, and the cake, created by Sugabuzz was picture perfect. "We owe a debt of gratitude to our family and friends for their support of our love and of our union. We are truly blessed."

Now husband and wife, Carla said: "There is a lot I love about him though his love for God heads the list. His gentle and supportive attitude encourages me to reciprocate, as well as to always remain positive. It is absolutely reaffirming to meet someone who enjoys spending time with the Lord and still remains humble regardless of his many blessings. His other two most attractive qualities are his love for family and the genuine care he has for others."
