The New Year is here so lets warmly welcome 2015 in style by organising those closets. Last year was the year of lace, sheers, flares with a touch of glam in the mix. While everyone has their individual style, if we follow last years hot trends, knowing what to purchase, what to keep and what to toss may be easier than you think.

Plunging neckline dresses and tops: Accentuating those assets have just got better with this new trend, great for painting the town red.

Boots (ankle): These are definitely quite stylish and can add just the right amount of oomph to any outfit.

Jumpsuit: Throw out those casual washout jeans and say hello to sophistication with this elegant supersuit.

Pencil skirts: This is a staple that never goes out of style, but now more women are appreciating this most feminine garment.

Gladiators: Whether sandals or stilettos, this style has been dominating the walkways and is going nowhere fast, except into your closet.

Clutch: The more things change, the more they stay the same. Oversized clutches range from different colours to patterns and have become the new accessory for fashionable outfits.

Empire slits: Double the splitting pleasure so you can double the fun. From the beach to the club, this bold yet trendy statement is all about showing some skin.

Lace: Lace is here to stay and nothing says feminine more than this delicate fabric.

Animal Print: a timeless style, seen in just about every article of clothing or accessory, encourages the fairer sex to live on the wild side so its definitely a keeper.

Midriff/crop top: Crop it cuz youre hot! Casual or glam, this is the perfect style to show off those killer abs.

Rompers: this multipurpose piece means that in the tropics any time is a good time to show some legs.

Peplum dresses and tops: Still trending on the style scene.

Statement jewellery: Last year was definitely the year to go big when it came to jewellery. It can take your outfit from plain Jane to a glammed up Rihanna.

Geometric prints: Prints are always fun to play with, especially in fashion. Wear it together as a suit or pair it with a solid colour and you are good to go for any event.

Skater skirts/dresses: Flip the script with a cool skater skirt or dress suitable for a sultry night.

High waist shorts: Clinging to those curves, the high-waist shorts is forever stylish especially for the tropics, so definitely worth saving.

It may not be spring, but its the perfect time to spring clean. See below the outdated fashions that should be thrown out:

Faux fur: What?!! Why did you get it in the first place?

Hi-low tops: Come on we can now afford the extra fabric to complete the outfit.

Fish net stockings: Do I need to say anything?

Embellished shorts: Save the embellishment for your tops

Jogger pants: These never really did make it so why bother?

Tie and dye: Someone thought we were still in camp and tried to put a grown-up spin on this print. Give your closet some well-needed space and toss.
