Happy International Women's Day
Happy International Women's Day!
It's been 20 years since the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women was ratified in Geneva, Switzerland.
Even though the struggle continues, on this International Women's Day, we have a lot to celebrate.
Women have broken many barriers, entering fields that were once seen as the sole domain of men. Women are now CEOs and presidents of companies and countries. The International Labour Organisation, recently announced that Jamaica has the highest proportion of female managers (59.3 per cent) anywhere in the world. This is something we should all be proud of even as we continue to fight other battles.
In this issue of Flair, we celebrate the women who have made it to the top of their game, and some who have helped with the fight. We are women, hear us roar!
