Krysta Weighs In: Last Hurrah
They say when one door closes, a window opens. Today I bid adieu to this chapter of my health and fitness journey and say hello to new beginnings.
If you are just joining, let me give you a recap. After realising that the world of work had taken a toll on my body, I decided to once and for all purge myself of the excess baggage lurking below the surface. With the help of personal trainers, I aspired to, first, get back to the figure I once famously flaunted, hoping as a bonus that I would surpass that.
There were many highs and equal lows, but in the end, I am proud to say that I have lost and maintained a loss of 24 pounds (jumps around in excitement). It may not sound like a lot, but so much has changed since I first joined the health and fitness club.
I look at food in a whole new light. Even on cheat days, I can never return to where I once was. Water is my new best friend, for the most part, and rice has truly lost its lustre. Raw vegetables and I are slowly, but surely, becoming family, and I am now looking to reconnect with protein shakes and green juices.
Gym is not just an activity, it is a way of life. In the beginning, I thought I couldn't keep up, and there were days when I was ready to give up, but those around me would not have it. They played a vital role in keeping me on the road to health, and for that I am truly grateful. It is never easy to get out of bed, but if you have a gym which is like a second family to you, then it is all worth it. That is what Ultimate Fitness Gym is to me.
From the owners, to the instructors, even fellow clients make early morning trips memorable. To my trainer Xavier Grey, I cannot thank you enough for taking me under your wing and believing that I could do it, despite the odds (I owe my new-found all-natural hourglass shape to you). We still have a long way to go, and I have faith that we will get to that goal.
I must make special mention of the other trainers at the gym who have also helped in enhancing my gym experience - thank you.
To my gym family, too many to count, thank you for bringing life and vibe to mornings that without you would be bleak.
To my family who have joined me on my journey, and extended a different level of support, I continue to be gratified by that blessing.
To my readers, who sent emails or called just to see how the journey has been going, I appreciated it so much. And for those who have been inspired by my mission that they have begun their very own health expedition and are seeing results, words cannot express the joy that I share with you.
I have learned a lot but more than anything, I have learned to love myself first, gaining a genuine appreciation for life (you only have one life to live, so live well).
It's so hard to say goodbye *tears*. Thanks to my readers for tuning in to Krysta Weighs I•. The journey is far from over. I'll just be doing it now on my own accord. Wish me luck!
