It's week three of Twas Trending and we have an interesting line up, just for you. Remember, the rumours you see here don't always have to be true but they surely have to be trending. Here's what was trending last week.
Chris Gayle Snaps Back
West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle is back in the limelight. This time around, it is in response to the accusation of sexual harassment. In a post via social media, he blasted fellow cricketers for not supporting him, and in a rant, urged critics and the media to "Kiss my black R@#/. I love Australia and I will be back." Many men defended his stance, but the women stood firm, noting that Gayle will always up to no good when it comes to the fairer sex. To add insult to injury #dontbushbaby now come with kisses
Oscar So White
Well Jada Pinkett-Smith has been pulling the race card ever since her husband had been snubbed by the academy. While many individuals might not think that the first Vivian Banks, Janet Hubert might not be coming from the right place with her rebuttal, one must admit that her points are valid. We cannot keep pulling the race card for everything and then the important issues get overshadowed. It was not a race issue Will Smith did not deserve a nomination, his movie tanked at the box office. NEXT PLEASE!
Amy Schumer Lashes back
Rising Star Comedian Amy Schumer was having an incredible week after winning not one but two Critics Choice Awards. What she probably did not expect was seeing an inappropriate caption posted under a picture she took with a 17 year old film critic. His caption read, "Spent the night with @amychumer. Certainly not the first guy to write that. #CriticsChoiceAwards". But if you plan to throw words at Amy, be prepared for priceless backlash. In a retweet, the actress responded, "I get it. Cause I'm a whore? Glad I took a photo with you. Hi to your dad." Many thought his sexist statement was uncalled for and commended her for playing it off in true Amy fashion. A few were of the view that she shouldn't have fought fire with fire. But, he got burnt and subsequently apologised for his blunder.
Betty White Celebrates 94 Years
We all know and love Betty White, right? Well, last week, the comedian turned 94 and a video made in her honour went viral with over 27 million view, over 500,000 likes and over 700,000 shares. I guess it's safe to say Betty White really is and will forever be our Golden Girl!
No Babies for 2016
There will be a lot of unhappy relationships this year as many will have been forced to take a vow of celibacy since the government has urged us to not get pregnant this year due to the debilitating effects Zika V will have on the baby. We know that the only sure way to prevent pregnancy is abstinence. Many women feel that instead of trying to take control of the issue, the government found it easier to take control of their uterus. Happy 2016, have sex at your own risk.
