Francine Shoots Elle
Hot Pulse star Francine James has ended 2015 on a high, shooting February issue of Elle magazine in Cape Town, South Africa.
Along with a slew of new assignments, including campaigns for H&M, Gucci, and Westfield, among several other brands, this makes James the hot, new star for 2015, the best new face out of the Caribbean in the year just ended. James started her international career at the Paris shows last February.
What is more, James is still awaiting a work visa for the United States of America (US), so her status has been achieved without the benefit of the all-important US market. Even more stunning success is anticipated when she hits the New York fashion scene later this year.
At the end of 2015, she was featured for the first time on models.com. The industry site picked up on her breakout success with December's German Vogue.
As her editorial images pop up in various markets, a new cover for CompÙnere highlights that for the Jamaican beauty, 2016 will, undoubtedly, be an even more stellar year.
Francine's exquisite shoot for Vogue, the world's premier fashion publication, was shot in the middle of last year by Luigi and Iango, with styling by Patti Wilson. Make-up was by Virginia Young and hair was also by Luigi and Iango. The German Vogue story was a game-changing move for James.
Vogue has led to Elle and H&M, and these will lead to other key steps along her path to stardom.
Looking back at 2015, James spent the first half of the year on a whirlwind tour of Europe working for clients in Paris, London, Milan, Stockholm, and Amsterdam. The Pulse Model Search winner undertook assignments for several clients, including 1981, ESPRIT, John Lewis, Vlisco, Ahlens, LNDR, Todd Lyn, Vanessa Steward, Marios Schwab, Faith connection, CompÙnere, and Olympia Letan. These included covers for CompÙnere and John Lewis.
A cover girl at 16 years old, James shot the cover and several pages of British travel glossy Suitcase while still at Camperdown High School. Like so many other Pulse stars who have gone before, including the likes of Angela Neil, Jaunel Mckenzie, Jeneil Williams, Nadine Willis, Kimberley Mais, Oraine Barrett, Lois Samuels, Romae Gordon, Nell Robinson, and Carla Campbell, Pulse chairman Kingsley Cooper has a direct connection with James, having himself discovered her at school and having also personally introduced her to the international market.
Seventeen-year-old James is not just an extraordinary beauty. A graduate of the Camperdown High School, James earned nine subjects at the CSEC level.
