Pulse’s Francine shoots Vogue again!
She's fast becoming a Vogue favourite, but Pulse's Francine James is not fazed by all the Conde Nast attention. Now she has added Spanish Vogue to her stunning German Vogue multi-page feature published last December. To further enhance her rapidly growing international reputation, her scintillating British Elle is now out - January 2016. Her Spanish Vogue editorial will be published in March.
Never one to stand still, James is currently in Stockholm working for Gudrun. This is the latest stop in a career which started just under a year ago. First it was Paris and then an impressive list of clients has her repping their brands in Milan, London, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Cape Town, just some of the several stops along the way. Who would have thought when she first visited New York as a 15-year-old high-school student at Camperdown, that she would be a double Vogue star, after just 11 months in the international model market? Now, not only has she completed that feat, but she is now competing strongly with other top-rated Jamaican models who have been on the international scene for years.
Spanish Vogue employed some of the industry's leading lights for Francine's shoot, including photographer Greg Kadell, assisted by Sam Crawford, Christopher Collie and Mariond Grand; stylist Elizabeth Sulcer, assisted by Derek Medwed and Kristine Souza; hair was by Ward Stegerhoek, assisted by Kiri Yoshiki; make-up by Maniel Barrera, assisted by Yumi Kaizuki.
James' newer client list includes H&M, Gucci and Westfield, among a number of other brands. Her success since her start in early 2015 makes her the hot new face in the global market from the Caribbean. At the end of 2015, James was featured for the first time on models.com. The industry site picked up on her breakout success with December's German Vogue. As her editorial images pop up in various markets, a new cover for Companere highlight's the Jamaican's classic beauty. 2016 will undoubtedly be an even more stellar year for the new Pulse star.
James' exquisite shoot for German Vogue, the world's premier fashion publication, was shot in the middle of last year by Luigi and Iango, with styling by Patti Wilson. The German Vogue story was a game-changing move for James. German Vogue has led to Elle, H&M and now Spanish Vogue.
Looking back at 2015, James spent the first part of the year on a whirlwind tour of Europe working for such brands as 1981, ESPRIT, John Lewis, Vlisco, Ahlens, LNDR, Todd Lyn, Vanessa Steward, Marios Schwab, Faith Connection, Companere and Olympia Letan. These included covers for Companere and John Lewis.
