From the big V-Day celebration to the highly anticipated Grammys, and all the political drama in between, 'Twas Trending followed the buzz and created an exciting recap just for you.

The Grammys

The 58th Grammy Awards had everyone talking. Locally, many were blocked from watching the show, but we kept current with what was happening: Rihanna's meltdown and subsequent disappearing act (her rep said she had bronchitis); Lauryn Hill's boycott, leaving Weeknd to ride solo; Adele's performance glitches; Lady Gaga's stellar tribute to David Bowie; Morgan Heritage winning Reggae Album of the Year; and Taylor Swift's delivery of a powerful speech in accepting the Album of the Year award. Hands down, the best performance of the night went to Kendrick Lamar, who took his audience on a cultural journey. And we were all over the moon when we heard Agent Sasco in the mix. #proudmoment

House details yet no debate

Leader of the opposition, the JLP's Andrew Holness, revealed the details of how he financed his house last week, but the PNP was still not satisfied, skirting around issues of secured or unsecured loans. One has to wonder if the PNP is cowering from the debates because they don't want us to see which party is "more brighter".

Valentine's Day love

There is nothing like a mother's love, and on Valentine's Day, new mommy Tyra Banks was glowing as she celebrated the occasion, showing some love to her son, York, who was front and centre, in an Instagram (IG) photo. Her beau, York's father Erik Alsla, also posted the photo on his IG page, with caption, 'Mother and Son'.

Publicly personal?

Speaking of IG posts, Asafa Powell also took to Instagram on Valentine's Day to post a photo of his son. He then went on to state that his personal life had nothing to do with his professional life. Well, if he does not want to blur the lines, of the two he should keep his personal information off the World Wide Web or make his profile private. That is what you sign up for as a public figure.

Kanye strikes out!

Well, as if Amber Rose putting Kanye in his place a week ago were not enough, he had to take out his ranting on the Grammys and Taylor Swift. Sigh! Will he ever learn?

Strike one: Kanye tweeted: "I'm practising my Grammy speech. I'm not going to the Grammys unless they promise me the Album of the Year!" The Grammy responded: "@kanyewest Is your Recording Academy membership still active? Make sure you vote!" I think they said all that they needed to, but the comments through photo and .gif were just hilarious.

Strike two: In his song Famous, he made a jab at Taylor, "I feel like Taylor and me might still have sex, I made that b**** famous." In her acceptance speech for Album of the Year, it was an alleged jab at him and it was well deserved. In her classy form, she said, "As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame." Nothing to add.

Strike three: He tweeted he is US$53 million in debt. So why is he still speaking? Can someone just take the mic and Twitter from this man? He is already self-destructing. He's OUT!
