With the swearing-in of a new Prime Minister and Parliament on Thursday, you know we couldn't escape the political saga. We have the inside scoop on that and so much more in this week's Twas Trending:
Throughout the political campaign, Damion Crawford had a lot to say. But last Monday, when Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced his Cabinet, the smallest in the history of the Jamaican Government, Crawford took to Twitter to say, "So Ja saves $2 mil ja dollars a month due to a smaller cabinet ... impact zilch". Man, did he take a Twitter beating for that! Remember, Crawford, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Singer and songwriter Adam Levine recently announced that he was taking a break from The Voice, to start working on starting his very own family with wife, Behati Prinsloo. Well, the media did a little digging and found that those plans were already under way, revealing that the couple of is expecting a little bundle of joy. Congrats, Adam! We know you're going to be an incredible dad!
Twitter was certainly on fire last week when Kim Kardashian gave Motivational Mondays new meaning by posting yet another nude photo with the caption - "When you're, like, I have nothing to wear, LOL".
But 70-year-old singer, actress and comedienne Bette Midler was not impressed, and responded to the tweet saying, "Kim Kardashian tweeted a nude selfie today. If Kim wants us to see a part of her we've never seen, she's gonna have to swallow the camera." Midler was not alone. Piers Morgan stepped in calling Kim K's husband, Kanye West, into play. "I know the old man's 50 million dollars in debt, Kim - this is absurd. Want me to buy you some clothes?" Well, Kim went off! And Morgan was under the view that West hijacked her account just for some attention! So two against one, turned into two against one and a half. Let's all hope that at the end of the day, they can all just get along, but until then, we'll enjoy all the drama as it unfolds.
Third Leg Sighting
Speaking of nudes, there was a photo circulating from a certain a social media photography page which brought to the forefront the perverse nature of soca parties and carnival. The picture featured the typical soca setting: girls wuking up and having fun. But if you looked closely, you would've seen an unwelcome third leg of an unidentified man. Since then, the page has removed the photo album but that didn't stop the picture from spreading. Many expressed disgust, and even shared their own horror stories. Based on that pic, something is now wrong with a stranger wining and jamming on a stranger. So, look out for the those 'uninvited revellers'.
