CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank welcomes new CEO
CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank hosted a customer appreciation reception to welcome new CEO Gary Brown to Jamaica at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel last Tuesday.
Brown, who is based in Barbados, said he was excited about the growth prospects of the bank in Jamaica and the other 16 islands in which the bank operates.
He said, "CIBC FirstCaribbean, which recently reported strong financial results for the six months ending April 30, 2016, has lots of capital and the ability to assist customers across the region with their financial goals."
He noted that the bank was constantly investing in innovative systems and products for the benefit of customers, and the strength of its Canada-based parent, CIBC, "gives it the resources to do what is needed in the Caribbean".
In his remarks, managing director of Jamaica's operations, Nigel Holness, pointed to innovations like their mobile app which can be used to check account balances, transfer funds, pay bills, and so much more. They also have 'apply online', which facilitates online account opening and loan application services and the Bizline Visa Business Debit Card.
"Times are changing and today's digital world is having a widespread effect on a range of issues, including how we handle our finances. Electronics and mobility are key trends that CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank is keeping track of for your benefit," he told guests at the reception.
Welcoming customers who have been with the bank for several years and new ones, Douglas Cupidon, head of corporate banking, said that the bank was "mindful of catering to all segments, retaining and building market share and remaining relevant and responsive to emerging trends and needs".
