Pulse's Alwin Danvers signed to London's IMG
Alwin Danvers, winner of Pulse's Caribbean Model Search in the male category, was last week signed to IMG models in London.
With this new development, the confident 6'2" model is keen to make an impact on the international fashion scene.
After attending an audition at Pulse, the reserved 24-year-old instantly stood out and went on to take top honours in the annual competition.
Hailing from Ewarton, St Catherine, he kept focused on achieving his goal and is happy with the latest break through in his career. "Being signed to IMG is a huge step for me and I am excited to be a part of such an outstanding agency," Alwin told Flair.
IMG is the world's largest model agency and has had a long relationship with Pulse. The international talent powerhouse currently represents Pulse and the Caribbean's top star, Jeneil Williams. Carla Campbell, Jaunel McKenzie, and Gaye McDonald.
And as has been the case with his predecessors, Alwin is already creating waves with his new London family. Head of IMG men's board, Devon Parsons, believes that Alwin is poised for great work. "He has strong features and will do very well here," parsons noted.
An avid reader and self-described meticulous planner, Alwin cites Jamaican supermodel Tyson Beckford as his inspiration for pursuing modelling. Pulse star and former CMS winner, Oraine Barrett is also someone who Alwin believes he can emulate. Barrett is Pulse's most successful male model and continues to front top campaigns for worldwide brands including Ralph Lauren and Nautica among several others. "I want to work for the best fashion designers and become a household name internationally," said Alwin.
He is set to make his debut in the London men's wear collections in September, with plans afoot for him to head to Milan after the shows. "I would definitely encourage any young model out there who wants to pursue their dreams, to do so," said Alwin. It was a great day when I decided to go to the audition at Pulse, the sky is the limit for me."
