The Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition promises to be an event to remember as it is a part of the Jamaica 55 celebrations this year. Before the unveiling of the queen, let us get acquainted with two more of the contestants of this year's competition. Meet Miss Manchester and Miss Clarendon.

Manchester Queen

Name: Kayan Diana Abigail Milwood

Age: 25

Education: Bsc International Relations (UWI, Mona).

Occupation: Public relations officer (Northern Caribbean University).

Philosophy: Impossible is not a declaration, impossible is a dare!

Special interest: The empowerment of women in Jamaica and the changing dimension and definition of security around the world.

Where I see myself in the next five years: By age 30, I will be a successful entrepreneur and media

personality. By then I would have already won both the Miss Manchester and Miss Jamaica Festival Queen competitions, which would afford me the opportunity to launch and execute my community project called 'Behind the Lipstick'. This outreach programme is geared towards empowering and uplifting Jamaican women. I would have completed a master's in international relations or a related field in England, all while being a wife and mother.

Clarendon Queen

Education: BEd in Science Education (Hons), Glenmuir High School.

Occupation: Teacher - biology and integrated science.

Philosophy: "If it does not challenge you, it will not change you."

Special interests: Improving self-confidence in young

people, educating others on the importance of caring for the environment, and overall development of the parish of Clarendon, one step at a time.

Where I see myself in five years: Recipient of a master's degree in science education. Working on more projects geared towards youth empowerment and care and beautification of the environment.
