It's All in the Cake
A gorgeous mouth-watering cake is often the centerpiece of a wedding and typically sits in a place of honour at the reception. Along with the first dance and bouquet toss, it is the carefully planned multi-layered confection that graces every wedding album. Being the star of the show at the wedding reception, it is only right that the cake's design and taste be nothing short of fantastic.
To get some insight into the making of these beautiful attractions, Flair partnered with Cake Couture Ja's Camille Flimn, who shared her love for weddings and the honour she gets from making cakes that add to a couple's special day.
"The cake has to shine like the bride, so I work hard to ensure I create breath-taking cakes. The designs of my wedding cakes depends on the client's personal preferences. I lean heavily on their suggestions and theme. Whether it be vintage, modern, or simply elegant, I draw inspiration from their taste and apply my creativity to design a cake that will complement their decor elements," Flimn explained.
Flimn went on to express that the flavour is also paramount. From traditional flavours to fruity concoctions or just a hint of something a little stronger, the cake has to taste as good as it looks.
