Beauty don't s with Kandi King

Published:Monday | November 6, 2017 | 12:00 AM

Whenever you see Kandi King, there is never a hair out of place and her make-up is always on 'fleek'. This Restaurant Week ambassador has it together, and with her work with the Miss Jamaica World franchise, we can know that she has tips that will have us all feeling like beauty queens.

We all want to look our best, and sometimes we go to make-up for help. Well, we don't get it right all the time, so we went to King, who gave us a few common mistakes women tend to make and how to avoid them.

OVERDONE OR UNNATURAL LOOKING BROWS

The key to curbing the common case of overdone brows is knowing when to stop. Remember this: you should always be able to see the individual hairs of your eyebrows.

CONTOUR FAILURE

Let me just say this: it is best to leave contouring to the professionals. It is not necessary for everyday wear.

OVER-BRONZING

A bronzer is a great way to add a sun-kissed glow to your skin, but you're only doing yourself a disservice if you are applying it all over your face.

MAKING THE CHOICE

This is a common rule that many forget - to choose between a dramatic lip or a bold eye, never both. Less is more with make-up.

CAKED-ON FOUNDATION

Suffocating your skin with a heavy cover-up will only draw attention to the problem you are trying to hide.

FALLING ASLEEP WITH YOUR MAKE-UP ON

Leaving your make-up is one of the worst things you can do for your skin. It can result in breakouts.

USING TOO MUCH CONCEALER OR USING THE WRONG SHADE

Ever seen someone with a huge white patch beneath each eyes? My advice, if you're not sure, consult a professional or just don't use it. There are cosmetics stores that test your shade, so ask if you're not sure.
