Stylish Mothers Wear GGoC
Mothers are known for lugging around overstuffed handbags resembling the notorious magic tote seen in Mary Poppins. Most of them will say you never know what you would need and carry items ranging from a pin to a hairdryer on a daily basis. If your mother is guilty of carrying her house car and land in a handbag, GGoC by Nicole Clark the perfect gift for Mother's Day.
GGoC, which is the acronym for God's Gift of Creativity, is an authentic Jamaican-made bag collection which uses Nigerian as well as Jamaican fabrics to create beautiful handmade bags. The collection which started in 2014 was inspired by the innovation of Clark, who decided to make a bag as a gift instead of purchasing an overpriced clutch.
"I saw a clutch a little before Christmas a few years back and I wanted it for my sister as a gift, but it was too expensive. So I said, let me try and make one for her. So with the first one, I went to my shoemaker who assembled it and it was cute. It was sold instantly, and I made another one and the same thing happened. This was the birth of my company," explained Clark.
Clark admitted that she is always observing the way people carry their belongings and tried to find ways to make their bags more fashionable while being functional. "We do fanny packs, crossbodies, clutches and tote bags. We recently started straw bags because they are currently in and trendy," said Clark.
The GGoC collection can be found at Gaychel boutique or viewing their catalogue on Instagram @GGoCbyNicole. Every mother deserves to look stylish, authentic and beautiful while carrying the items needed to make our lives a billion times easier.
