Kelly's World | They pierced their what?

Published:Monday | May 28, 2018 | 12:00 AM

So, apparently more men are piercing their nipples. I read a story that had that headline in The STAR a few days ago and it had me shaking my head.

I have to say whenever I've thought about piercing anywhere, only my ears have ever come to mind.

There are times when I feel like I get left behind the many trends that come up every few months or so.

But I don't think I'll be following this one any time soon. For the record, I'm not crazy about women piercing their nipples either.

Call me old fashioned, but I just feel like there are some things humans shouldn't do.

Piercing your ears is par for the course. Piercing the nose? Hmm, I can live with it because on some women it's kinda cute.

People have pierced the bridge of their nose which is slightly different. Not sure I'm a fan of that one.

I have seen dimple piercings on women and I can wrap my head around that. If she has really nice dimples, I can dig it (good God, not literally).

But the nipples? No sah, not into that. Weird thing is, I've heard of people piercing other parts of their anatomy, including some sections further 'below the equator'. has a whole bunch of ways in which men, for instance, can pierce parts of their 'member'.

Now, to each his own, I truly believe that. But why the hell would you want to pierce that particular part of the body?

It, arguably, is what makes you a dude more than anything else. Why, oh why, would you mess with it?

The site even talked about piercings that were specific to men who were circumcised and some for men who weren't.

According to, all the following are piercings that someone in the world has done.

The top of their butt crack - now, anything that deals with putting something in or near the butt is really not my speed. Enough said.

The jugular notch (which is just above where your collarbones meet on your chest) - So if someone were to playfully poke you and their finger gets caught ... yeah.

The neck - Regardless of what part of the neck it is, I really don't think that's a good idea. Taking off a T-shirt all of sudden becomes as delicate an exercise as trying to open a safe without triggering the alarm.

The mandible (the jawbone) - The piercings I saw run from the base of the tongue straight down and out the bottom of the chin. Enough said.

But the one that takes the cake is: their Achilles. Now, even if you're not the most versed person in terms of human biology, if you watch track and field even a little, you know the Achilles ah round ah yuh foot back deh so.

These particular piercings pass between the aforementioned tendon and the bone in the leg. So if the piercing goes wrong, you're walking with a limp for life. Yikes!

I tell you, humans have been piercing their bodies for years, but this is getting out of hand. Later.
