Davene Jonas' Cover Me Collection
Davene Jonas is a student at Edna Manley School for the Visual and Performing Arts. She is driven by her passion for fashion.
Jonas, however, wanted to ensure that while her passion for fashion and making designs that were flattering to the curves of the woman she still upheld, the modesty of her faith.
"Modesty in fashion has always been a mental question whenever I choose an outfit, being that I am a Christian. The aim of my collection is to find a mid-ground for females more specifically, to feel modest, well-put-together and appropriately attired with a touch of appeal," she told.
With her designs, she aims to reconstruct the secular style to create a modest look. Her line included mostly sheer, stretch fabrics, and linen fabric dyed the most beautiful shades of blue and purple. The stretch fabrics like spandex flatter the women's covers as is seen in her swimwear and with a cover-up that still leaves quite a bit to the imagination to help with the modesty theme.
She also has a few flirty everyday wears that borders on sophisticated and fun, which exudes her personality.
Here are a few of her pieces.
