Toss & Roll keeping it fresh
What's the flavour? Well, Toss & Roll is serving up a blend of sweet, exhilarating, spicy flavours to have diners fall head over heels in love come Restaurant Week.
Though not a first-timer to the Gleaner-sponsored event, it is still one of the more recent additions. This, its second year, Toss and Roll is pulling out all the stops like a true veteran with its spicy shrimp pecan salad served with pesto crostini. This dish includes lettuce, pecans, purple cabbage, cranberries and apples topped with pan-seared spicy garlic shrimp.
"The spicy shrimp has an enticing garlic flavour with a hint of spice. The pecans add a crunch, and the sweet from the cranberries and apples add a nice touch," said owner Jermaine Bailey. What awakens the palate is the freshness of the ingredients that makes you feel like they were picked from the Garden of Eden.
If you want something more on the cheesy side, then Toss and Roll still has something in store for you. Their pastrami melt panini served with Asian sesame cole slaw will hit that spot that only a great panini can.
Bailey chose these dishes not only because they are quick to prepare for customers on the go at the Nyam and Scram eatery, but because of the unique flavours that he believes will appease the taste buds of diners. Who said healthy could not be delicious?
