The perfect balance of tastes at Asia's Café
They will have you saying "OMG" when you bite into Asia's Café's OMG Burger during the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week (RW).
Asia's Café will be serving up a savoury burger, and its name has set high expectations - and they have certainly lived up to it. The beef patty is stuffed with mozzarella cheese, topped with caramelised pineapple, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and onion rings and is accompanied by a serving of fries. This burger manages to strike the perfect balance in taste despite being filled with different flavours. However, there is no competition too overwhelming for your taste buds. The beef and bacon will take you to food heaven.
"The only word I can find for it is WOW," said chef Courtney Virgo.
As if the burger was not enough, this café is offering a combo package, so it will be served with chicken soup and Cuban bread pudding. This bread pudding with um, cinnamon and is influenced with vanilla and filled with apple, is described by Virgo as delicate on the palate.
If you opt not to have the burger, there are always barbecued wings. The wings are coated with a cinnamon barbecue sauce served with arranged vegetables with blue cheese dressing and a serving of fries. Like the OMG burger combo, this dish is served with a soup and dessert. The soup is a delicious pepper pot janga soup and dessert that will make you melt. Filled with rum-flavoured pastry cream, strawberries, cherry and lined with sponge cake while topped with whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup and toasted nut.
This Nyam and Scram café is a must-go this RW.
