Something new for everybody at Christopher's
Chef Conroy Arnold presents an almost entirely new menu at Christopher's at Hermosa Cove in Ocho Rios, for this year's Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week (RW).
He estimates that around 85 per cent of items on the menu are new. These include seafood linguine pasta, casserole of country vegetables, two-flavoured cheese cake, pimento wood smoked marlin salad, chopped smoked chicken salad and Mama Kidd's mackerel run-down.
Mama Kidd's mackerel run-down, along with the herb de' provence crusted beef tenderloin, are two items not to be missed.
"The flavours we're going to concentrate more on, this year, are flavours like turmeric, annotto, spices, local organic herb, rosemary, thyme and basel," Arnold said.
In order to taste the real flavour, Mama Kidd's mackerel run-down is wrapped in a quesadilla, with smoked tomato folded in, potato with Scotch bonnet pepper, turmeric and paprika.
Steak lovers will be pleased to know that the favourite, herb de' provence crusted beef tenderloin, is back on the menu.
The beef tenderloin is presented with crispy oven roasted potato croquette on top, ratatouille local corn, okra, and a mustard-like sauce.
