Tasty treats at Evita's Italian Restaurant

Evita's Italian Restaurant offers a brilliant view of Ocho Rios, sitting atop the hill on Eden Bower Road, overlooking the resort town.

But far more tantalising than the brilliance of the view are the tasty dishes being offered for this year's Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week (RW).

The dishes come straight from the restaurant's regular menu and include favourites such as Fettuccine Contessa, Chicken Scaloppini, Seafood Lasagne, Lasagna Rastafari, Jamaican Curry Suprema, among others.

The menu at Evita's is flavoured by the use of a wide assortment of herbs, spices and other ingredients. These include garlic, onion, red pepper, parsley, mint, oregano, curry, coconut, pineapple, mango, honey and white wine.

"Fettuccine Contessa is lobster meat and baby shrimp, sautéed in olive oil, garlic, tomato sauce and a touch of red pepper flakes," explained restaurateur Eva Myers. "It's done with local ingredients, except for the pasta. It's a very simple dish."

Another favourite, the Jamaican Curry Suprema, is chicken with shrimp added. According to Myers: "Jamaica Curry Suprema glorifies the usual curry. We use real cream in the curry."

Evita's enters Restaurant Week 2014 on the heels of a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, awarded earlier this year, with a rating of 4.5 out of 5.
