The Farmers Jerk Centre and Lounge in Old Harbour, St Catherine, is slowly but surely becoming a household name as residents near and far can't seem get enough of its savoury offerings.

Open daily, from 11 a.m until you say when, the food joint serves tasty jerked pork, fish, chicken, sausages, escoveitched fish, and a variety of soups, with your choice of sides which includes fried plantain, festival, bread, and rice and peas.

There is also a wide variety of beverages from the bar on the compound.

Now 20 years in operation, Farmers Jerk Centre and Lounge manages to keep customers coming back for more, despite all its challenges. "When I started this business, it was on Smith Avenue. I had to move it, then I was invited to this location," Eugene Grandison, the proprietor explained.

He told Food that initially, he operated at nights.

"One of my workers told me to capitalise on the business, and we kept trying until we became a household name," Grandison continued.

According to one of their regular customers, Monica Martin: "The food is freshly cooked and tastes good, and is reasonably priced. It is hard for you not to come back."
