When you hear the name 'Di Grill Shack,' you probably think of a rustic, laid-back setting where you can let your hair down and enjoy some good food. Well, that is exactly what the new location offers.

Di Grill Shack, previously located on Lady Musgrave Road, a few months ago decided to make a move to stay true to what they believe is the theme of the eatery and what should be the ambience of the restaurant, and found it and last month.

"When you think of Grill Shack, you don't think of something that is indoors with air conditioning, you think of an outdoors laid-back setting. While we liked the location, the two did not blend," manager Tyrell Reid explained to Food.

So they set out to a new spot. It was fate for the restaurant and the location on Phoenix Avenue. The choice was a good one, the thatch roof sheds make you feel like you are at a grill shack. The music in the background does not compete with guests communicating, and every shed feels like a VIP section.

Along with the new location came three new additions to the menu - two appetiser and an entrÈe. The appetisers include loaded fries, which stay true to the traditional version of this dish - French fries topped with cheese and bacon, and of course, one Di Grill Shack addition - jalapeno peppers. This has a flavour you will love with a spicy twist to awaken your taste buds. The other appetiser is nachos served with cheese. What's special about these nachos with cheese? The cheese, of course! It maintains its smooth texture, and you do not have to be rushing to eat it before it gets thick and spongy as it cools.

The entrÈe - barbecue shrimp wrapped with bacon, which is served with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables, is a must-try. The two distinct flavours are a perfect complement, and the barbecue sauce used as a glaze, adds a sweet touch.

With the exception of these three new dishes, if you are a long standing Grill Shack customer, your favourites will still be on the menu. Reid chimed in with the clichÈ, 'if it is not broken don't fix it.'

"We are the same Di Grill Shack with great food," he emphasised. The pulled pork sandwich served with sweet potato fries is still a hit with customers as is their Mushroom Swiss Beef Burger.

For those with a sweet tooth, their exquisite brownie served with ice cream will make your toes curl.

"These work for us, and if it works for us, then why change it?" adds Reid.

What is next for Di Grill Shack?

There are plans to add two more locations to their existing three. The main location at Phoenix Avenue, one at the University of Technology and a delivery location at Chad-Ad off Marcus Garvey Drive.
