Welcome the cheesemobile
It's not exactly fast, it's not exactly sleek, but it is definitely fun and will certainly get your attention. This Easter, Dairy Industries Jamaica Limited, manufacturers of Tastee Cheese - Jamaica's favourite - gets set to unveil The Tastee 'Cheesemobile'.
The Cheesemobile, a cute Honda subcompact with a giant Tastee Cheese Tin on top, makes its first appearance tomorrow (Friday March 13) at the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre (level 2). From 2-5 p.m., radio personality Jennifer 'Jenny Jenny' Small and DJ Dexter Daps will host a fun-filled afternoon of games, zany competitions, prizes and giveaways. Specially priced Tastee Cheese along with free Easter bun (while stocks last) will also be available.
Be on the lookout for Mr Wedge, the Tastee Cheese mascot, and the young and young-at-heart can look forward to taking fun selfies with Mr Wedge or life-sized cut-out of Tastee Cheese. During the festivities, you will be able to upload your pictures to Tastee Cheese's Facebook page where the zaniest picture will win a prize.
For homemakers, the highlight of Dairy Industries Easter promotion will be the money they'll save on Bun Days. Scheduled for Saturday, March 14 and 21, on those days participating supermarkets will be staffed with Tastee Cheese representatives who will distribute free Easter Bun with every 1kg or 500g of Tastee Cheese purchased.
Bun Day kicks off on March 14 at several Hi-Lo Food Stores. On the 21, Bun Day will move to Progressive Grocers of Jamaica and similarly, will include several independent stores. Check Tastee Cheese's Facebook page for participating supermarkets and grocers islandwide. The Cheesemobile will visit supermarkets and grocers around the island between March 14 and 21.
