Miracle Chef is Christine Edwards
Christine Edwards walked away with $100,000 after winning the Miracle Chef Culinary competition at the University of Technology on Monday, March 30.
According to Seprod's group marketing manager Roger Thompson, "This is the first competition of this type by a commercial entity and so we want to own this space of unearthing talent in the culinary field. This is Seprod's 75th anniversary. Next year is going to be bigger and better. Christine's victory concludes Seprod's hunt for a confident, animated, engaging and articulate individual with a flair for the culinary arts to showcase the quality and versatility of our Miracle line of products across all socio-economic groups."
The showdown for the champion title of The Miracle Chef saw candidates chosen from the Runaway Bay HEART Academy demonstrate their prowess in the culinary arena. Contestants were judged for their skill, creativity and personality by a panel of four judges to include persons from top management in the Seprod Group of Companies, as well as recognised personalities within the culinary world.
Meanwhile, Edwards thanked God for giving her the talent and drive in the culinary arts. She also thanked the miracle brand for their products and idea for creating these products for Jamaicans, especially for students at HEART Academy.
Judge and chef, Oji Jaja, said he was excited about assisting in the structure of the competition as it will assist in the development of culinary professionals in the island. He said that he was happy that Miracle initiated and conceptualised the competition.
