It was only fitting that when the organisers of the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week (RW) wanted to break bread with up-and-coming athletes, as the anticipation builds for the weeklong culinary affair, the chosen venue was Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records (UBT&R).

As the group gathered last Wednesday, they gelled like they had known each other for ages. As the athletes sipped on welcome cocktails, mainly the Absolut Kaci Splash, one of the RW special cocktails, hosts Monique Solomon and Stephanie Scott kept the energy in the room high, ensuring everyone was in good 'spirits'.

The appetising tapas menu featured some favourites at UBT&R's: flat bread vegetarian pizza; codfish fritters; jerked chicken spring rolls; buffalo, crispy fried, and Red Stripe wings; jerked pork; and last but certainly not least, the divine cheesecake spring roll.

As things got spicy on the taste buds, concoctions courtesy of El Dorado, Absolut Vodka and Robert Mondavi Wines- all from Select Brands, cooled things down as the athletes enjoyed each others company.Food
