Ham-tastic Christmas with Hamilton

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and there's no occasion quite like it, where friends and family gather in merriment to celebrate the real reason for the season. Now, what's a Christmas dinner without the savoury indulgence of decadent ham, baked and glazed to perfection?

Last Thursday, The Gleaner Company got a taste of Christmas when Jacqui Tyson, in association with Hamilton's Smokehouse, spread delectably good cheer with their line of ham.

Team Blue was in for a flavourful treat when Jacqui Tyson's team presented a succulent variety: freshly prepared chicken, black forest and leg ham. So, for those seeking an alternative from pork, you can try the chicken ham. Those who aspire to live on the leaner side of the life can try the Black Forest ham, charred to a smokey delight, while for many, the traditional tender leg ham is the way to go.

Ham review

With choices at their disposal, many lined up to sample the terrific tasty trio. Here are what a few had to say in their review:

"Pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture of the chicken. First time having it, so I didn't know what to expect; and, as one who is really tired of chicken, this is a pleasantly refreshing way to have it for Christmas. The Black Forest ham: just the name had me and I was in no way disappointed. A must try."

"I liked the Black Forest ham the most. The chicken ham was a bit too salty for me."

"The leg ham was and, after the sampling, still is my favourite. Personally, I don't believe in chicken ham, and thought the taste was surprisingly good. The Black Forest was a little disappointing: I didn't like that is was charred or dry, but that is just my taste."
