Team Jamaica is celebrating triumphs in the recent Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association, Taste of the Caribbean culinary competition in Miami, Florida.

Comprised of winners from The Best Dressed Chicken Taste of Jamaica Competition, the team exhibited resilience and fervour, competing against 13 teams from across the region.

In the end, Jamaica secured two silver medals, three bronze medals, as well as honorary mentions in the cheesecake and pastry chef competitions.

The 12-member team dominated the Taste of the Islands the food exhibition aspect of Taste of the Caribbean. The team brought irresistible flavour and energy, which captured the hearts of attendees from across the Caribbean and the United States, and won the award for Best Tasteful Bite.

"It was amazing to witness the camaraderie of our team as they worked to deliver for Jamaica. By its nature, food is a shared experience, and while there was spirited competition, we also affirmed that we in the Caribbean have so much in common," said Nikolette Williams, marketing communications officer, The Best Dressed Chicken.

An annual event, Taste of the Caribbean showcases the best chefs and bartenders from across the region to hone their professional skills, compete, and network. The aim of the event is to advance the appreciation for Caribbean cuisine, and to create a sustainable platform for exposing the tremendous culinary talent that exists across the region.
