Rib, Roast & Rum Is Back With More
The popular and highly anticipated foodie event 'Rib, Roast & Rum' will return this Friday for its ninth staging.
The all-you-can-eat and mixed drinks-inclusive event will feature much more than its usual signature menu items fresh off the grill.
The new venue, appropriately dubbed 'The Grillin' Pit,' is located at the corner of Argyle Road and Musgrave Avenue.
Event organiser Tricia Knott Francis of Knott Francis Eventures said, "We're adding a Jamaican flair to the event this time around, by introducing menu items such as a delicious jerk BBQ pig's tail and a unique, spicy coconut curry chicken foot."
Chef Christian Sweeney of Fuzion Foodservice, who also functions as the event's official catering partner, will be recreating foods that patrons have grown to love. This includes the rum BBQ ribs, guava BBQ ribs, and spicy BBQribs at the live cooking stations.
"Other menu items to look forward to are mannish water, janga, corn soup, char-SIU BBQ chicken, rum BBQ chicken, spicy BBQ chicken, jerked chicken neck, jerked pork skewers, and a pasta station where patrons can customise their pasta with choices of chicken, sausage or vegetables," he added.
Local ice cream and frozen novelties company Kremi will also be on hand to provide delectable cold treats to help keep patrons cool.
Special guest patisseries for the evening will be Jodi McBean of Jodicakes and Dominic McDowell of Dam Good Brownies.
Sponsors for the event include The Gleaner (Media) Company Limited, Fidelity Motors, Conceptual Lighting and Audio, Copperwood, Lasco, YaardTickets, Pure National Ice, Island Bet, Allied Protection, Dacameron Printers and Novelty Party Rentals.
Island Bet is also back on board to provide gaming experiences and betting opportunities to entertain patrons. Music will be provided by DJ Taj from Renaissance Disco and DJ Benjie of Ish.
