Simply red, simply delicious
Despite treats of Hurricane Matthew, foodies weathered the pending storm for a worthy cause to support the Heart Foundation's annual fundraising initiative, Simply Red.
Those in attendance made a grand entrance and toured the colourful lawns of Jamaica House in high hopes of indulging in the savoury and sweet offerings right at their fingertips.
Delectable dishes kept guests busy, who had so many to choose from with so little time. Jacqui Tyson, armed with her famous 'dancing chef' blazed palates with delightful pastas and her signature-pig's tail, cooling things down with her signature-fruit crepe.
Lorraine Fung delivered top notch culinary masterpieces, ranging from jerked pork lo mein with a plantain chips and spicy peanut topping to chicken taco with a pineapple black bean salsa, just to name a few.
Tastee cheese shared their cheesy fried rice, cheese-stuffed chicken breast with cheese wedges and bacon on top, along with an assortment of cheese and fruits. Marco Polo was all about their chicken Alfredo soup, while Excelsior came with flavourful snacks along with goody bags.
Food giants Rainforest Seafoods had seafood delights for all to savour, and Crabs Dat Come supplied all the crab cravings for the night. The Embassy of Chile had many wanting more, while GCG events and Great House Caterings brought innovation at its tastiest. Salivating yet?
Paired with a wonderful cocktail selections from JMMB, CPJ and Welch, it just could not get any better. Other tasty treats included Kerrygold's chocolate dreams and Bacardi fresh fruit tarts.
For culinary entertainment, the young chefs were seen out and about cooking up a storm in a match up to win several prizes. All in all, Simply Red was simply delicious.
