The Job Lane, Spanish Town, area belongs to Faith 'Karen' Gordon on Thursdays. The occasion is a weekly cookout and get-together of patrons, friends and well-wishers.

Persons with the most discriminating taste can feel at home with the offerings at 'Yaad Style Thursday'.

Gordon told Food that the aim is to create a niche market for those who want to keep the Jamaican flavour on their palates.

"We have to be here for the customers who want to hold on to the rustic and tasty Jamaican flavour. We are a family, as they helped to build the business from scratch. We cater to all with different dishes to suit their taste buds," Gordon said.

During Food's visit, there was chicken back, hog head, corned pork, salted mackerel 'run dung', curried chicken foot accompanied by dumplings, boiled banana, yam, sweet potato and rice with peas, pumpkin, and callaloo.

"We are here very regularly and it's all about the taste and service at the venue. It is where we meet and greet friends from all over Jamaica," said Bunny 'Smoka' Gardner.

In addition to the food that is cooked over open flame, patrons are exposed to a magnificent array of beverages at the well-stocked bar (Karyn's Lounge).
