What's better than indulging in tasty sushi with a little bit of Jamaican flair? With the sound of Bob Marley in the background and the smell of authentic sushi floating in the air, East Japanese, located in the midst of the Market Place, on Constant Spring Road in St Andrew, is ready to serve up some mouth-watering dishes this November.

When Food caught up with head chefs Takayori Toma and Tamar Foster, both were preparing some delicious dishes to satisfy their customer's taste buds and spilling the beans on what's in store for this year's Restaurant Week (RW).

Foster, who brings a little Jamaican flavour to the mix, is happy that he can create memorable dishes and have customer feel at home in the popular Japanese restaurant. "Customers always ask for our chicken and rock shrimp because it's delicious," he told Food.

Turning up the heat in the kitchen, Foster whipped up some juicy grilled chicken and creamy rock shrimp, while Toma rolled seven pieces of JB sushi roll. East Japanese patrons not only love the combination of the exquisite spicy ingredients, but are delighted by the beautiful presentations.

For this RW, embrace the Japanese in you at East Japanese.
