For those who love love, St. Valentine’s Day is the most wonderful time of the year. As the day draws near, lovers are searching for that special something to woo their significant other, that special place that will capture the essence of romance. Consider a quiet dinner for two, sprinkled with the right ingredients to win their heart. That’s what Executive Chef Alex D-Great of The Steak House is aiming to do with Baileys’ this Valentine’s Day.

 

The Steak House on the Devon House Verandah is a quaint little spot in the heart of the metropolis. The restaurant will offer a special menu for Valentine’s Day that consists of a three-course meal including Baileys infused desserts. Baileys Creamy Wild Fire, the Soul Mates’ Fantasy and Baileys Bread Pudding will tantalize your taste buds and set your palates on overdrive.

 

Baileys Creamy Wild Fire

 

Baileys Creamy Wildfire is a Baileys Creme Brulee Red Berry Surprise. Baileys is the cream base of the vanilla custard, which is filled with strawberries.

The Soul Mates Fantasy

 

The Soul Mates’ Fantasy is a Baileys Cannoli Filled with a Napoleon Cheesecake. Baileys is used as the cream base in the filling along with ricotta cheese, cream cheese and vanilla. Chef D-Great uses semi-sweet chocolate, vanilla extract and strawberry filling to make up the brown, white and pink layers respectively of the cheesecake.

 

Baileys Bread Pudding

This classic dessert consists of whole-wheat hard-dough bread soaked in Baileys, baked over low heat and topped with a Baileys Irish Cream sauce.

 

Baileys Bread Pudding

 

Ingredients:

4 slice of Hard-dough whole wheat bread (diced in cubes)
2 cups of Baileys Irish Cream
4 eggs
½ cup of milk or cream
1 tsp cinnamon
1tsp nutmeg
¼ sugar
Pinch of salt
1tbs vanilla
1 cup of Devon Stout ice cream
2ounce diced butter

 

Directions:

 

Combine liquid ingredients (Baileys, eggs, milk or cream, vanilla, ice cream and butter).
Add dry ingredients to the batter (cinnamon, sugar and salt).
Soak cubes of bread in the mix for 20 minutes
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F
Add soaked bread to baking mold
Bake for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven.

 

 

The Soul Mates Fantasy

 

Ingredients:

2 Cannoli shells
Filling:

½ pound cream cheese
5 ounces of ricotta cheese
1 slice cheesecake
¼ pound icing sugar
½ cup Baileys Irish Cream
1 tbs almond extract
¼ cup strawberry filling
½ semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 ounces chopped walnuts (optional)

 

Directions:

 

Combine cream cheese, ricotta cheese, cheese cake, Baileys, almond extract and icing sugar.
Mix together until smooth
Separate in 3 parts.

Add strawberry filling to one part
Add semi-sweet chocolate to another part
Add diced walnuts to the other (optional)

Add filling to piping bag and insert in cannoli shells.

 

 

 Baileys Creamy Wild Fire

 

Ingredients:

 

2 cups of Baileys Irish Cream
½ cup of heavy cream
6 egg yolks
1tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
½ cup of sugar
½ cup of strawberry filling

 

Directions:

 

Mix Baileys and heavy cream together.
Place in large skillet over medium heat.

Reduce till mixture is ¾ the size

Whisk egg yolk with salt and sugar

Add mixture slowly to large skillet

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F
Add mixture to baking mold
Bake for 10-15 minutes in pre-heated stove in a water bath
