You can prevent the flu! Dr Will Sawyer, an internationally known infection-prevention expert and family physician, has developed simple and comprehensive strategies to prevent you and your family from getting the flu.

For the past 19 years, Dr Will Sawyer has taught the '4 Principles of Hand Awareness' and the 'Comprehensive Cold and Flu Prevention Triad' to reduce absenteeism in school and the workplace.

Studies show that hand-washing four times per day reduces school absenteeism due to respiratory infections and gastrointestinal infections, by more than 50 per cent.

4 PRINCIPLES OF

HAND AWARENESS

1. Wash your hands when they are dirty and before eating.

2. Do not cough into your hands.

3. Do not sneeze into your hands.

4. Above all, do not put your fingers into your eyes, nose, or mouth (T Zone).

COMPREHENSIVE COLD AND

FLU-PREVENTION TRIAD:

1. Do not touch your T Zone.

2. Hand wash regularly.

3. Don't hesitate to vaccinate.

Dr Will Sawyer created this behaviour-change programme using Henry the Hand Champion Handwasher to teach others how to prevent infectious disease. By practicing the 4 Principles of Hand Awareness, you and your family will be healthy throughout the flu season. Visit us at henrythehand.org to learn more.
